PDI, a global infection prevention company, is seeking novel sporicidal surface disinfectants that kill the Clostridioides difficile bacteria. The team is specifically interested in solutions that act quickly against C. difficile. The disinfectants should have little to no scent and be suitable for use in a clinical environment.
Approaches of Interest:
- Surface disinfectants that kill a broad spectrum of bacteria and viruses are desired, with a focus on efficacy against C. difficile
- Solutions should be cost effective, have a low toxicity profile, and not cause irritation to the skin, eyes, or respiratory system
- Formulations that reduce or eliminate the odor of existing sporicidal disinfectants without reducing efficacy against C. difficile are in scope or the formula itself should have very little to no scent
- Solutions that offer a more sustainable alternative to current disinfectants are desirable
Out of Scope:
- Surface disinfectants with a strong odor
Developmental Stages of Interest:
- Opportunities that have validation in a relevant environment (TRL 5) onwards are in scope
